Workshops description:

Photography (Samuel Faucherre and Alexi Fagnoni): We will teach about basics of photo shooting, framing, and exposure principle for 1-2h in the morning. You will then be given an analog camera with one black and white film that you will use during the all day. In the evening we will develop your film using cuves and the right chemicals development technic. Possibility to scan the film later on the ship, and there will be a workshop later in the summer about darkroom photo printing.

Exploring freedom through body and voice (Alice Normand): In our everyday lives, we use our bodies to move and our voices to speak. We use them in ways that are ordinary to us, and without being aware of it, we are everyday creators, for beauty lays in so many things we do – from a simple sitting position to the sound of a yawn… As soon as we want to use our bodies to act or our voices to sing for instance, we are aware we are creators then, and it’s something else entirely. We may want to find the ordinary back, or we may be looking for the extraordinary. In any case, it’s all about freeing possibilities, movements and sounds that were there all along. I offer to share with you some keys and exercises about this, that I have learned from wise people during singing and acting lessons. We will practice individual exercises and try to use them in collective exercises to create encounters.

Songwriting (Alice Normand): Getting together to write, around common guidelines and timing, is a very good way to trigger what may be called ‘inspiration’. Whether you have experience in writing or songwriting or neither, grab a piece of paper and a pen and let’s try it out together! Sharing what you wrote is never an obligation, but those who do want to will be most welcome to do so!

Through the Body to the Soul (Sofia Tzemi): The name of the workshop already gives us a hint of what it is about. Mixing my background experience in the culture of Spanish Flamenco as well as that of the greek islands, and my medical studies in Western Psychiatry and Japanese Shiatsu, I wish to explore the mysteries of the universe- so called ‘Self’, through the dance and our interaction with Hawila and its natural surroundings.

Dog Behaviour and Training (Peter Gonnsen)There will be a 3 Days 2 Hours each day workshop on some foundamentals of Behaviours. Some scientific facts based on the research of Pavlov, Skinner and Thorndike. And how we can benefit of these facts in training, comunication with the animal. Furthermore there will be some basics on canine body language and meaning to avoid some common misunderstandings. Also some facts about the dogs sences in order that we have a better understanding of our pets. Finaly there will be an explanation of the consequences of punishment or if we always are correcting the dogs behaviours.

Storytelling: Fantasy and Reality / Education and Entertainment (Alex Opazo): This Workshop is for people over 18 years old who want to develop techniques in the storytelling art.
The participant will get tools to develop their way to talk, use the voice and body comunication, escenography, develop of a character (the storyteller actor), etc.
They will also get an introduction to the historic/cultural/social/educative view and the importance of storytelling in the ancient and modern society.

Storytelling for kids ” the bat and the wind ” (Alex Opazo): Storytelling show for kids about the bat and his problems with the wind, how the bat learn to hear the other creatures to find his own way in the darkness.

Contemporary danse “Humanimals Dialogues” (Sofia Kakouri)“Humanimals Dialogues” it’s a solo and partnering body practice.
Essentially Improvisation excercises with specifiques tasks bring us to a better listening and detachment of our interior dialogues and obstacles.
We practice to find and keep solid our place in a collective condition; to find the balance between our human and animal side; following our instinct; taking risks; feeling free; being aware and concious of the whole space; .
Start with listen and learn our own body in a individual process first, help us to find our own way to move, to express our selfs, to fill in space and time, to be.
Pass into the partnering practice on duo – trio and group, specifically into the idea of Resistance and Acceptance, we creat dialogues between bodies, space and time, we communicate with a constructive and free way.
This workshop it’s an attempt of the selected results of my experiences and research on the question: How and how the body practice and improvised expression can touching and helping our social daily and collective life.

Dynamic boat yoga for everyone! (Daphne Dahlin)During my workshop, I will teach dynamic flow yoga, fitted for all levels. This means, that everyone is welcome (young, old, small or tall, flexible or stiff.. this means that beginners are welcome) The teaching will be in english or maybe in danglish (combined with danish).
The sessions each day will be 1 to 1 1/2 hours. You will learn the basic yogapostures and breathing techniques that are so important for the yoga practise. The yogasession will be filled with flow, stretching and at the same time strenghining postures. At the end of the class in Shavasana (pose where you completely let go, lie down and relax on the floor) you will have a calm, relaxed and energized body and mind, so you can continue the day on the boat with full awareness! Please bring a yogamat if you own one, otherwise we will try to provide such. Remember wearing loose clothes.

Vinyasa Yoga All Levels (Kristine Downing): This class will be taught in the vinyasa style of yoga, a flow that attempts to link every movement with an inhale or exhale. It is for all levels, as every pose has several variations, so the practitioner can choose the asanas which best suit them. We will start with a warm up, followed by sun salutations, and then some standing poses and relaxation to end the class. It will be a lovely way to calm down in the afternoon, say hi to the sun, and clear the mind to enjoy the evening.

Yoga for Kids (Ages 4-11 Approximately) (Kristine Downing)This yoga class will be filled with lots of animal poses and yoga story-telling to make it exciting for younger kids. We will use our imagination to bring our bodies into all kinds of asanas that help us release energy in positive ways and we will finish off the class with a few moments of peace and quiet to help us to relax. The class is for children of all ages and will be catered to those who show up. It will be taught in both Danish and English so that everyone can participate 🙂

Sailing theory (Samuel Faucherre)We will first learn the basic principle of wind and sailing as well as the vocabulary, the names of the different parts and place of a sailing vessel using Hawila as example. If we have time we will then teach about basic traditional marine cartography.

Element Yoga (Nerea Turreira)This workshop is about connecting with our body. We will work with the 5 elements or 5 chakras through gentle exercises and finish with a relaxing self massage. The aim is to improve the energy flow in our body, which promotes general health. No previous knowledge or experience in yoga is required, come an have some good fun stretching your body! *Please bring your yoga matt. In case you do not have one, we will try to provide you with one 🙂

Aerial silk (Despina Tzemi)In this workshop there will be an introduction how to climb safely on the silk, create figures and if we have the time perform some basic flying tricks!

Floor acrobatics (Rasmus Gonnsen)Basic acrobatics will be taught in this workshop. The focus will be on understanding and feeling our bodies in terms of muscles, power and balance. There is no need of having experience in this field. More advanced people can try acrobatics of higher levels such as flips (..or double flips) in the sea from the boat or the dock. If you could bring your yoga mattress, it would be amazing!!
