For the second year – from the 12th to the 19th of June – the historical sailing vessel Hawila opens its doors to a summer festival! From members to all local and international communities interested in marine and sailing culture, emerging art, environmental awareness and community living. The self organised festival is created and funded through volunteer participation. Workshops and learning experiments by day, entertainment by night, with great music and live performances. Activities are free and open to all. Join an unforgettable moment!

As a participant, you’ll be one in about 30 local and international members at the festival living together, contributing to carry out daily routine tasks (eg cooking, keeping the space tidy) as well as participating to a long day program of workshops, from well-being to sailing techniques. Work is shared collectively in daily shifts, the rest of the time is for enjoying all the experiences! Final planning and set-up happens together the day before the festival, on the 13th of June, so please be available on that date.

You can be hosted aboard Hawila for the duration of the festival. Participants are selected on a first come first serve basis. Additionally, each participant receives a hand-made & printed Hawila T-Shirt, bracelet and postcard, and has membership price for food provided during the festival (30 K per day/ 200 DK for the entire week, or an equivalent contribution in  rice, grains, dry goods (…) to be included in the folk kitchen. More info after the deadline.) Please send us your application by the 20th of May!
